Lottery player checks ticket with clerk, then clerk’s ‘eyes opened so wide’
A Maryland lottery player thought she was dreaming after scoring a big top prize from a $10 scratch-off ticket, lottery officials said.
“I really thought that I was going to wake up at any moment,” the lucky winner told the Maryland Lottery, according to a June 20 news release.
When the woman went to confirm her win with a clerk, she said the clerk’s “eyes opened so wide,” according to lottery officials.
“That’s when the dream feeling started,” she told the lottery.
The woman won a top prize worth $100,000 in the Bingo X10 8th Edition game, lottery officials said.
She bought her winning ticket at a grocery store in Glen Burnie, about a 35-mile drive northeast from Washington, D.C., according to the lottery.
The odds of winning a prize in the Bingo X10 8th Edition game, which began in March 2024, are 1 in 3.24, according to the game’s web page.
