Excavator stolen from construction site used to destroy ATMs, Oregon cops say

An excavator was stolen from a construction site in Oregon and used to damage ATMS, deputies said.

Authorities responded at about 4:50 a.m. June 23 to a report of a burglary at a U.S. Bank in Clackamas, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.

Deputies said they discovered an excavator still running near the ATM drive-thru.

Someone stole the equipment, drove it from a nearby construction site and used it to “destroy two ATM housings, causing damage to the U.S. Bank building in the process,” deputies said.

Cash was stolen from a drive-thru ATM, deputies said.

No one was at the scene or arrested.

Now authorities are looking for information that could help identify whoever is responsible.
