‘Frightened to fabulous.’ See Indiana shelter dog transform as she awaits home
At first she was afraid — she was terrified. Now, a dog in Indiana has had her nerves settled and she’s ready to face the world … or at least ready to be accepted into a loving family.
Meet Jasmine, a silly, loving and sweet dog who went “from frightened to fabulous,” the Humane Society for Hamilton County in Fishers said in a Nov. 11 Facebook post.
“When Jasmine first came to the shelter, she was so frightened that we quickly moved her into foster care, hoping a quiet home would help her heart heal. And wow, did it ever.”
The 8-year-old pit bull mix suffered from kennel stress, but moving into a foster home was a life changer for the happy girl.
“Jasmine is such a sweet and funny dog. One of my favorite things about her is that she often greets me with a toy or blanket in her mouth. She is a huge wiggle butt and exudes happiness,” her foster mom told the shelter.
“Also, she has earned the name ‘Jazz Butt’ because she prefers to slide off the couch instead of jumping down, which results in her sticking her butt up in the air and it is very funny.”
Jasmine also has a long list of loves as well, which include:
- Her Chuck-It ball
- Car rides
- Naps
- Love
“She’s housebroken, knows a few commands, and is even cat-approved! Walks can still feel a little overwhelming, but in a familiar space, her playful personality shines,” the shelter said.
“Jasmine has lived with young children and did wonderfully, and she would love a home where she can have her own little spot to retreat to when she wants some quiet time.”
