Brian Duthie, a Puyallup native who is a firefighter for the Port of Seattle at SeaTac Airport, is making his second run to represent the 25th Legislative District in the state House of Representatives.

The 25th district includes Puyallup, Fife, Midland, Parkland, and South Hill. Duthie, a Democrat, is seeking Position 2 held by Republican state Rep. Chris Gildon, who is running for the state Senate.

“The issues facing our communities and families – underfunded schools, mental health and addiction crises, ever-increasing traffic, and unfairly financed transportation projects – remain problems that must be addressed,” said Duthie in a written statement announcing his candidacy this week.

An Air Force veteran, Duthie ran for the seat in 2018 and lost to Gildon by 51 percent to 49 percent margin.
