Watch: Gov. Jay Inslee to speak at first meeting of policing task force

Gov. Jay Inslee is scheduled to give opening remarks at 6 p.m. Thursday at the first meeting of his Task Force on Independent Investigations of Police Use of Force.

Watch the meeting via TVW.

The members of the task force were announced last month. They will make recommendations for legislation.

“We must listen to the voices of impacted communities and families to hear their experiences with policing.” Inslee said in a press release last month. “This work will inform legislation and help chart a path towards addressing some of these systemic and extremely harmful practices and policies that have impacted communities of color for generations.”
