Court Commissioner to seek position as Pierce County Superior Court judge

Pierce County Superior Court Commissioner Karena Kirkendoll recently announced that she’ll seek the seat on the bench now held by Ron Culpepper, who is retiring.

Kirkendoll has been an industrial appeals judge and an administrative law judge in Washington, and is a former president of the local bar association.

She worked as a family law and personal injury attorney in Pierce County for 12 years.

Her volunteer work has included Habitat for Humanity, YMCA Mock Trial and Pierce County Volunteer Legal Services.

All 22 Superior Court seats are up for election this year.
