Special stress management team arrives to help Mount Rainier employees cope with death of Margaret Anderson

Mount Rainier National Park workers met with the park service’s regional Critical Incident Stress Management team this morning as they begin the slow process of transitioning back to normal operations.

Park ranger Margaret Anderson was shot and killed by a motorist she stopped in the park on Jan. 1. The body of the man believed to have killed her was found partially submerged in Paradise Creek on Jan. 2. The shooter appeared to have frozen to death said Pierce County Sheriff spokesman Ed Troyer. The medical examiner has not yet announced the cause of death.
