Mom stabs burglar before he can crawl through a window, harm daughter, WA cops say
A woman and her daughter hid in a bedroom Monday as a man tried to break into their Washington home for the second time, The Spokesman-Review says.
The man had earlier tried to break in, but Spokane police couldn’t find him, KHQ reported. Then he returned at 11:45 a.m. and the mom armed herself with a kitchen knife.
After he couldn’t get in through the front door, the intruder hurled a brick through the bedroom window, according to KAYU. As he tried to crawl through the broken window, he made threats about raping the women, police say.
The mother stabbed him with the kitchen knife and the intruder ran back to the front door, KREM reported. He also tried twice more to climb through the shattered window.
Police arrested Nicholas Abraham, 29, on the home’s back patio, KHQ reported.
Officers also found a stolen car they believe Abraham had taken earlier Monday from an auto dealership, The Spokesman-Review reported.
Abraham faces charges including burglary with sexual motivation and vehicle theft, KAYU reported. He was treated at a hospital before being jailed.
The woman also suffered cuts on her hand from the broken glass, KREM reported.
