Deputy rams car to stop wrong-way drunk driver on interstate, Washington cops say

When a Washington sheriff’s deputy spotted a wrong-way driver on Interstate 5 early Sunday, he pulled his patrol SUV into the oncoming car’s lane, The Columbian reports.

The vehicles collided head-on about 2:45 a.m. on I-5 in Clark County, north of Portland, Oregon, KPTV reported.

Clark County Deputy Gregory Agar, 28, was hurt in the crash, but Washington State Patrol officials did not provide information on his injuries, according to the station.

The other driver, Miguel Jimenez Jimenez, 27, of Vancouver, Washington, was unhurt, The Oregonian reported. He faces drunken driving charges.

Agar’s 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV and Jimenez’s Mazda 3 sedan were both totaled in the crash in the northbound lanes of I-5 near Ridgefield, Washington, The Columbian reported.
