Tattoos on woman’s remains could help identify her, Washington cops say
Authorities in Washington are hoping that someone might recognize the tattoos on the body of an unidentified woman found in the area, local media reports.
The Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office said the body was recovered from a body of water, and that they haven’t been able to successfully identify her, KGW reported.
The body was found in March and had three distinct tattoos, according to The Daily News.
Deputies had a local artist recreate images of the woman’s tattoos, KATU reported.
One of the tattoos is of a lion’s head with flowers underneath. Another appears to show people standing in a circle, with a banner underneath that says “J.C.B.” The third tattoo appears to show a red triangle with a purple “S” inside, with a crown on top of the triangle and branches extending from its sides.
Police ask that anyone who may recognize the tattoos contact them at (360) 577-3092. Those who want to remain anonymous can also contact authorities through their website.
The Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from McClatchy News on Thursday, May 26.
