Thurston, Pierce County healthcare jobs offer medical professionals hefty signing bonuses
Across the state of Washington, healthcare workers remain in extremely high demand.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, it has put immense pressure on healthcare workers which has in turn led to worker burnout, exhaustion and workforce shortages, according to the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation.
The healthcare workforce shortage not only impacted the United States, but continues to impact countries around the world whose shortages only got worse during the COVID-19 pandemic. By 2030, the World Health Organization estimates a shortfall of 15 million health workers, mostly in low and lower-middle-income countries.
A number of new positions with Washington state’s Department of Social and Health Services at various state hospitals, and hospitals in the Providence healthcare network in Thurston County have recently been listed, offering incentives for healthcare workers.
Numerous positions for registered nurses, psychologists, radiologists and others are being advertised with signing bonuses starting at least $1,000 and going as high as $15,000, according to research by McClatchy News.
