Person in dumpster dies after being tossed into garbage truck, Washington cops say

A person died after being tossed into a garbage collection truck in Washington, police said.

The person was inside a dumpster that was being collected the morning of Wednesday, Oct. 25, on 196th Street SW, the Lynnwood Police Department posted to X, formerly known as Twitter.

Police said they helped get the person out of the garbage truck.

They were taken to a hospital where they died from their injuries, police said.

“At this time, this appears to be a tragic accident,” police said in the tweet.

The investigation is ongoing.

Lynnwood is about 15 miles north of Seattle.

In February, a 45-year-old man was dumped into a garbage truck from a dumpster in West Odessa, Texas, KOSA reported.

He died in a fall while trying to climb off the truck, the news outlet reported
