A woman’s body was found in an apartment garage freezer after maintenance workers stumbled upon a man’s body, Washington police said.

Officers responded to the North Bend apartment after the workers found the dead man, identified as David E. Loewe, 60, during a welfare check that was part of an eviction process, the Snoqualmie Police Department said in a Feb. 7 Facebook post.

While officers were searching the apartment Jan. 31, they found Judy M. Loewe, 60, dead “in a large freezer” in the apartment’s garage, police said.

Though an investigation is ongoing, it is believed this was a murder-suicide, police said.

An autopsy found Judy M. Loewe died from a single gunshot wound before being put in the freezer, police said.

North Bend is about 30 miles southeast of Seattle.
