Deputies responded to a report of angry kids “fighting” in a Washington street.

But when deputies got to the scene, they were in for a surprise.

Instead of having to break up a fight between children, the deputies found a pair of misplaced goats, the King County Sheriff’s Office said in an April 8 Facebook post.

“They discovered the caller wasn’t referring to the two-legged human type but rather to goats,” deputies said.

The deputies still had to do something about the wandering farm animals, though.

They used an apple to lure the goats to them, then animal control officers were able to remove the two, deputies said.

Sweet! If only the apple worked for all arguments!” one person commented on Facebook.

“Had to check: Missed April fools by a week!” another person wrote.

The sheriff’s office was unable to confirm with McClatchy News the date or place where the incident happened.
