T&T Supermarket, a chain of Asian food-centric grocery stores with over 35 locations in Canada, opened its first U.S. store on Thursday, Dec. 5 in Bellevue. At 76,000 square feet, the store becomes the largest Asian supermarket in Washington state, according to the company’s news release.

According to 2009 reporting in the Everett Herald, the Lynnwood branch of popular Asian market chain H Mart, which operates nine stores in the state, comes close to the same size, at an estimated 75,000 feet.

“We’re incredibly excited to open our doors in Bellevue and introduce U.S. shoppers to the T&T experience,” the company’s CEO, Tina Lee, stated in the release.

Hot food bar, sushi and more

The market features hot food selections and beauty products, in addition to produce and packaged foods. Customers can find a self-serve prepared food bar, complete with a sushi and a barbecue station, as well as a variety of classic dishes. Breads and pastries baked in house, as well as made-to-order street food options, will be available as well.

“From our fresh kitchen dishes to our one-of-a-kind bakery and exclusive private-label items, we aim to bring the rich flavors of Asia directly to the community,” Lee stated. “We want to be the go-to destination not only for Asian families but for anyone eager to explore new culinary traditions in the Pacific Northwest.”

The store is located at 12620 SE 41st Place in Bellevue. It will be open seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., according to its website.

More T&T WA stores planned

The company plans to open a second Washington location, which is expected to be ready in the summer of 2025, in Lynnwood. A third U.S. location is in the works as well, slated to open in San Jose, California in fall 2025.
