Washington State

Washington has 3 of the best sandwich shops in the US, Yelp says. Here’s where

Sandwich lovers look no further.

Three spots in Washington ranked among the top 100 places for sandwiches in the country, Yelp said in a July 29 release.

The featured cities include Seattle and Auburn, where businesses serve up Asian, Caribbean and egg sandwiches.

But there are plenty of other options on Yelp’s list for all taste buds, including classic deli subs, grilled cheese, vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free sandwiches.

Yelp determined the top sandwich shops by ranking businesses in the sandwich category “using a number of factors, including the total volume and ratings of reviews.” These places all had a passing health score as of May 9.

What to know about each spot

Urban Chops in Auburn ranked No. 67 on Yelp’s top sandwich list.

The small shop serves Vietnamese and Chinese sandwiches with 15 protein options and the choice of a steamed bun or baguette.

Each sandwich is served with cucumber, cilantro, pickled carrots, jalapeno and a house sauce.

“Amazing spot for creative banh mi or bun flavors. The portions are super big and I was amazed at how large the bun sandwiches are,” one Elite Yelp reviewer commented.

Konvene Coffee in Seattle also made it on the list, ranking at 71.

Customers can grab a coffee, pastry or egg sandwich and take in the views of the Space Needle. But it’s only open in the morning and afternoons.

“This tiny cafe above a grocery store is adorable! It’s a one man show. One guy taking the orders and making everything himself. So do be prepared for a slight wait. But the food is well worth it.” another Yelp reviewer wrote.

Lastly, Yelp included Un Bien, a Caribbean restaurant in Seattle that ranked at No. 77./

“This place gets it. Caribbean flavors, big portions, and food that’s impossible to eat neatly (but that’s part of the fun),” someone said on Yelp.

The menu offers many kinds of sandwiches, including slow-roasted pork shoulder served on baguette, topped with aioli, cilantro, pickled spicy jalapeños, romaine lettuce and caramelized onions.
