Powerball player wins $1 million in Washington. Where was the lucky ticket sold?
A Powerball ticket sold in Washington won $1 million, just missing the $160 million jackpot, lottery officials say.
The ticket matched five winning numbers but not the Powerball in the drawing Monday, Sept. 29, Washington’s Lottery said.
The lucky ticket was sold at a Safeway supermarket in Kent, which is about a 20-mile drive south from Seattle, lottery officials told McClatchy News in an email.
Tickets sold in Florida, Illinois and New York also won $1 million each.
The winning numbers were 1, 3, 27, 60 and 65 with a Powerball of 16. The Power Play multiplier was 5x.
Powerball jackpot grows
Nobody won the jackpot, which rises to an estimated $174 million, with a cash value of about $80.7 million, for the next drawing Wednesday, Oct. 1, the national Powerball site said.
Nearly 330,000 other Powerball tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $4 to $250,000, the lottery said.
The Powerball jackpot was last won Sept. 6, when players in Missouri and Texas split the $1.787 billion grand prize.
