Powerball ticket sold near Tacoma wins thousands. Where was it purchased?
A Powerball ticket sold about 40 miles outside Tacoma missed the jackpot but still won thousands, a lottery official said.
The ticket matched four white balls plus the red Powerball to win $50,000 in the drawing held Wednesday, Oct. 8, a spokesperson for Washington’s Lottery told The News Tribune in an Oct. 9 email.
The jackpot was an estimated $223 million, the Powerball site said.
Where was the winning Washington Powerball ticket sold?
Washington’s $50,000-winning ticket was sold at Clear Creek Grocery, 14367 Clear Creek Road NW, in Silverdale, the lottery official said.
Silverdale is about a 40-mile drive northwest from Tacoma.
What were the winning Powerball numbers?
The winning Powerball numbers were 8, 10, 44, 48 and 54, with a red Powerball of 14, the Powerball website said.
No one hit the jackpot or won the second-tier prize of $1 million, or $2 million with the 2x Power Play add-on, per the Powerball site. But 13 tickets around the country won $50,000, including the Silverdale ticket, and two more won $100,000 thanks to the add-on, the site said.
Thousands won lesser amounts, between $4 and $200.
When is the next Powerball drawing?
The next Powerball drawing is 10:59 pm ET on Saturday, Oct. 11.
The jackpot is an estimated $244 million, with a cash value of $114.2 million, according to the Powerball website.
