Police still looking for leads after unknown murder suspect left burned-out truck near Mineral Lake in 2022
Police are still looking for leads regarding the 2022 Tacoma murder of a 44-year-old man and the unknown suspects who left a burned-out Ford F-350 near Mineral Lake in Lewis County.
According to Crime Stoppers of Tacoma-Pierce County, a privately-funded non-profit, Nicholas "Skinny" Ahlstrand was murdered in a drive-by shooting at about 6:30 p.m., August 24, 2022.
Officers responded to the incident at 3611 S. 31st St. in Tacoma.
Ahlstrand reportedly died at the scene from a gunshot wound to the chest.
According to Crime Stoppers, detectives identified a stolen Ford F-350 from which several shots had been fired toward the house.
Police located the truck in the 300 block of Mineral Hill Road, near Mineral Lake.
It had been set on fire.
Though they never identified suspects, detectives reportedly believe a silver BMW convertible sedan may have been associated with the unknown individuals at the time of the murder.
The BMW was also likely stolen. It is unknown how many suspects were involved.
