Clark County Council sets Monday public hearing for 2025-2045 growth plan

The Clark County Council will hold a public hearing beginning at 4 p.m. Monday on the selection of a proposed land use alternative to be included in the county's 2025-2045 growth plan.

Depending on public interest, time available or any outstanding issues, the hearing could be continued until 10 a.m. Tuesday if needed.

The county is reviewing three proposed maps that include zoning changes and expansion of urban growth boundaries. The proposed maps can be found on the county's website at clark.wa.gov/community-planning/2025-update-meeting-and-event-information.

The county council and community planning staff have been working to update the 20-year growth plan since early 2023, as required by the state's Growth Management Act. Initial work included population and employment projections, as well as housing allocations, for each urban area. Other work included environmental analysis and drafting an environmental impact statement, review of site-specific change requests and completion of an agricultural lands study needed to allow zone change to agricultural lands.

Council meetings are hybrid in format in the sixth-floor hearing room at the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St., in Vancouver. Residents can attend the meeting in person or via Webex.
