2 stabbed in East Wenatchee altercation

Two men were stabbed Sunday night in East Wenatchee in the 800 block of North Baker Avenue in the parking lot of an apartment complex during an altercation that police believe is gang-related.

Police responded to a fight in which one man was stabbed twice in the lower back, and his brother-in-law was stabbed in the arm, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in Douglas County Superior Court.

Both men were hospitalized.

One of the victims told police that he was walking in the area when a car rolled up near him and challenged him to a fight.

A man identified by police as Enrique Torres allegedly stabbed the first victim, stabbed the second victim when he came out to help his brother-in-law, and attempted to stab a third person.

Police say Heather Goodman, 38, was in the SUV with Torres and was arrested on suspicion of complicit of first-degree assault, criminal mischief and fourth-degree assault as she "appeared to have assisted and engaged in assaulting" two of the victims.

Torres and his girlfriend, who was also present at the altercation, have not been located by police as of Monday morning.

No charges have been filed in the case.
