Candidate filing begins for August primary election

Candidate filing week began Monday for those seeking public office in Chelan and Douglas counties in this year's primary and general elections.

Several county-level and state representative positions - including county assessor, auditor, clerk, sheriff, prosecuting attorney and more - are up for election. Find a full list of the open offices available here.

Some of these offices will require that the candidate pay a filing fee. People can learn more about these positions by calling the Chelan County Elections Department at 509-667-6808 or the Douglas County Elections Department at 509-888-6407 or visiting their respective websites.

Filing week ends Friday. The primary election Aug. 4 and the general election Nov. 3.
