Drought indicators worsen in Skagit County
Drought indicators worsened this week in parts of Skagit County.
Under the U.S. Drought Monitor, conditions in western Skagit County worsened from "no drought" to "abnormally dry."
Abnormally dry is a category that is not technically considered drought, but is an indication an area could be entering drought.
About 60% of the county, from Fidalgo Island to about Concrete, is now considered abnormally dry.
The U.S. Drought Monitor is predicting drought to develop throughout all of Skagit County in the next three months.
