Wife of suspect tied to Clark County child molestation investigation is arrested
May 12-The wife of a suspect tied to a child molestation investigation involving two others, including a Clark County pediatrician, was arrested by police Monday in connection to the case.
Anna May Hartley, 41, was taken into custody and booked into the Clark County Jail on suspicion of first-degree child molestation and first-degree trafficking.
She was set to appear Tuesday afternoon in Clark County Superior Court.
Police said there was no further information to provide as of Tuesday morning.
Hartley's husband, 36-year-old Chad Hartley, was arrested April 29. He is facing four counts each of second-degree possessing and dealing in depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, one count of first-degree child molestation, one count of first-degree trafficking, two counts of first-degree possessing depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, two counts of first-degree voyeurism and two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
During his first court appearance, prosecutors told the judge that Chad Hartley was associated with Dr. Michael R. Wilmington, who was being investigated for child molestation. Wilmington worked at Kaiser Permanente's Salmon Creek office and was affiliated with multiple medical facilities in the Vancouver-Portland metro area. He died by apparent suicide May 2, a day after a judge issued a warrant for his arrest.
Vancouver police said their investigation found Wilmington hosted naked sleepovers with young children at his La Center residence. Investigators served a search warrant at Wilmington's residence and seized numerous items of evidence, according to a police news release.
A third man connected to the case, 61-year-old William J. Sneiderwine of Vancouver, was arrested last week on suspicion of first-degree conspiracy to commit child molestation and tampering with physical evidence.
