Longview-Kelso Altrusa awards 3 scholarships to Longview students

Altrusa International of Longview-Kelso has awarded three scholarships to local students who have attended or plan to attend Lower Columbia College in Longview.

Altrusa had three $3,000 scholarships available to students for the 2026-27 school year.

Briar Gorton, of Longview, earned the renewable four-year scholarship for students enrolled in a LCC two-year program.

Fernanda Verdugo Morales, of Longview, earned the scholarship for a student enrolled in one of LCC's two-year technical programs.

Liliana Rodriguez-Flores, of Longview, earned the scholarship for female students who have attended LCC and applied to study science at a four-year college or university.

This is the 58th year Altrusa has provided local scholarships, which are funded through fundraisers, including selling elephant ears at Go 4th, Squirrel Fest and the Terry-Taylor garage sale.
