Castle Rock chamber hosts vigil for Nippon spill victims Thursday

The Greater Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce is set to hold a vigil and silent auction 7 p.m. Thursday at the North County Pavilion.

All proceeds will go to the Lower Columbia Longshoremen's Federal Credit Union fund supporting families affected by the May 26 chemical spill at the Nippon Dynawave paper mill in Longview.

Guests are asked to bring cards, food and messages of support.

The Oasis bar will provide pizza, and local businesses have donated items for the silent auction.
