Schools will offer free meals for Walla Walla Valley kids this summer

School districts across the Walla Walla Valley are providing free meals to children during the summer.

Some locations offer on-site meals only, meaning food has to be eaten there and cannot be taken home, while others are offering to-go meals.

Every program is offering free meals to anyone age 18 and under. Below are the times and dates for each school district's program, along with additional information.

Walla Walla

Sharpstein Elementary School: 410 S. Howard St., June 8-Aug. 7, Monday-Friday; Breakfast: 8:30-9 a.m.; Lunch: 11:30 a.m.-noon.

Walla Walla High School: 800 Abbott Road, June 15-Aug. 7, Monday-Friday; Breakfast: 8:45-9:15 a.m.; Lunch: 11:30 a.m.-noon.

The Kids' Place at Walla Walla Community College: 611 Water Center Drive, June 8-Aug.7, Monday-Friday; Breakfast: 8:30-9 a.m.; Lunch: 11:30 a.m.-noon.

The Kids' Place at Whitman College: 109 Nancy Evans Way, June 8-Aug. 7, Monday-Friday; Breakfast: 8:30-9 a.m.; Lunch: 11:30 a.m.-noon.

Washington Park: 700 W. Cherry St., June 15-Aug. 7, Monday-Friday; Lunch: 11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m.

All meals must be consumed on site. There will be no service at any of the Walla Walla locations on Friday, June 19, or Friday, July 3.

College Place

Davis Elementary School: 31 SE Ash St., June 22-July 23, Monday-Thursday; Breakfast: 9:10-9:30 a.m.; Lunch: 11:30 a.m.-noon.

Valle Lindo: 133 Farmland Road, Walla Walla, June 22-July 23, Monday-Thursday; Breakfast: 9:10-9:40 a.m.; Lunch: 11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m..

Meals must be consumed on site and cannot be picked up by parents or siblings. There will be no service at either of these locations on Monday, July 20.

Milton-Freewater

Visual Eyes: 320 N. Columbia St., June 22-Aug. 13, Monday-Thursday; Breakfast and lunch: 10-10:20 a.m.

Orchard Homes: 311 N. Elizabeth St., June 22-Aug. 13, Monday-Thursday; Breakfast and lunch: 10:25-10:45 a.m.

Joe Humbert Family Aquatic Center: 200 De Haven St., June 24-Aug. 8, Monday-Thursday; Breakfast and lunch: 10:50-11:10 a.m.

Library: 8 SW EighthAve., June 22-Aug. 13, Monday-Thursday; Breakfast and lunch: 11:15-11:35 a.m.

All of the meals in Milton-Freewater are for pickup. Children can pick up breakfast and lunch to take home at the same time. On Thursdays, breakfast and lunch for Thursday, Friday and Saturday will be available to take home.

Waitsburg

Waitsburg Elementary School: 184 Academy St., June 22-July 17, Monday-Friday; Breakfast: 8:30-9 a.m.; Lunch: 12-12:30 p.m.

Meals will not be served on Friday, July 3.

Athena-Weston

Athena Elementary School: 375 S. Fifth St., June 15-Aug. 13, Monday-Thursday; Lunch: 11:30 a.m.-noon.

Weston City Park: 114 E. Main St., June 15-Aug. 13, Monday-Thursday; Lunch: 12:15-12:45 p.m.

Meals in Athena and Weston are for pickup to take home. Children, legal guardians, parents or grandparents can pick up the meals.
