The high on Tuesday is forecasted to be 75 degrees in Longview-Kelso, then 78 degrees on Wednesday and 86 degrees on Thursday.
The National Weather Service advised people in the expected area to drink plenty of fluids, stay in cool places out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors. Those without air conditioning can use fans to keep air circulating and open their windows at night to let in cool air.
While outside, people were advised to wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing and limit strenuous activity to the early morning or evening.
Young children and pets should not be left in unattended vehicles, as car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
