National retailer is closing nearly 60 locations. Which WA stores will close?
A national retailer is closing boat supply stores across the nation after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy — including a handful in Washington state.
West Marine will shut down a total of 59 locations in the United States, the company announced on its website.
“We recently made the difficult decision to close select store locations,” West Marine said.
“While this change wasn’t easy, our commitment to you hasn’t changed one bit,” the company said in a message to customers. “West Marine is open, stocked and ready to help with everything you need to get back on the water.”
Here’s what to know:
What is West Marine?
Founded in California in 1968, West Marine is now the largest specialty retailer of boating supplies, fishing tackle and marine gear in the nation, the company said on its website.
The company, which is headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, has more than 230 stores in 38 states and Puerto Rico.
