Lewis County seeks applicants for Public Health and Social Services Advisory Board
The Lewis County Board of Health is accepting applications for a volunteer position on the Public Health & Social Services Advisory Board.
The 13-member board gives residents the opportunity to help guide local conversations around community health, environmental health, behavioral health, housing, human services and other issues that affect individuals and families across Lewis County, according to a news release from the Board of Health.
The current opening is for the medical provider position. This position is open to any Lewis County resident with an interest in public health and social services who has experience as a licensed healthcare provider. The appointment will fill an existing vacancy with a term expiring Dec. 31, 2028.
"Medical providers see firsthand the challenges facing individuals and families in our community," said Lewis County Public Health and Social Services Director Meja Handlen. "This is an opportunity to bring that experience to the table."
The advisory board meets at 4 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month in the Board of County Commissioners' Hearing Room in the Lewis County Courthouse, located at 351 NW North St. in Chehalis. Meetings can also be attended virtually.
Applications are due by 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1. Interested individuals can download an application at https://lewiscountywa.gov/departments/public-health and submit the completed form by email to BOH@lewiscountywa.gov.
Applications will be presented to the Board of Health at its July 13 meeting.
