Woodland school board and teachers honored for pioneering first Civic Seal

WOODLAND - Bill Basl of the Civic Learning Council presented a commemorative plaque to the Woodland school board at its May 28 meeting to recognize the Woodland High School social studies department for launching the very first Civic Seal program in the state of Washington.

Basl presented certificates of recognition to Woodland High's four social studies teachers: Shari Conditt, Kyla Keefer, Julia Stepper and Katie Klaus.

In its inaugural year, five Woodland High School seniors successfully completed the rigorous requirements necessary to earn the state's first-ever Civic Seal.
