Cowlitz County Superior Court Judge Patricia Fassett set bail on Thursday for Brent Anthony Clemetson, 31, at $50,000. As of Friday evening, he remained in Cowlitz County Jail.
He was also arrested on suspicion of indecent liberties.
On Wednesday, a relative called 911 to report the sexual abuse that had occurred the previous day, according to arresting documents.
One of the victim's parents told authorities that Clemetson said the youth "touched his penis," after it had "fallen out of his pants," when the two were playing in his room, the records show.
The parents were alerted to the alleged crime by the victim. The parents and the victim knew Clemetson prior to the reported abuse.
Clemetson called the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline and expressed thoughts of self-harm after the incident, court records show. He also messaged a person on Discord under a different name, reportedly admitting to the abuse and saying he had ruined his life.
If Clemetson makes bail, he must have no contact with anyone under age 16.
Fassett appointed Cowlitz County public defender David Phelan to represent Clemetson.
His next hearing is set for July 8.
