Fire sparked July 4 burns 80 acres near Glenoma, Riffe Lake
A brush fire that broke out at the east end of Riffe Lake in Lewis County Saturday night, July 4, has spread to nearly 80 acres, as of Monday morning.
At the time emergency personnel responded to the blaze, the fire reportedly encompassed roughly 13 to 15 acres and had not threatened any structures.
The blaze has since been named the Haul Fire. Fire officials have not announced the cause of the fire.
Weekly weather forecasts in Lewis County predict highs into the 70s with winds topping out around 7 mph and a slight chance of precipitation.
As of Monday's presstime, the wildfire-tracking app Watch Duty had not reported information on the fire's containment percentage.
