The following are criminal cases heard recently in Skagit County Superior Court:

CHILD MOLESTATION

A 48-year-old Bremerton man pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of third-degree child molestation and two counts of communicating with a minor for immoral purposes.

According to court records, prosecutors will recommend a prison sentence of 18 months for Franklin Carl Klocke when he is sentenced July 31.

Records state that on Nov. 15, 2024, Mount Vernon police learned that Klocke had inappropriate conduct with girls about 10 and 11 years old.

ASSAULT

A 37-year-old Mount Vernon man was sentenced to 12 months in prison Thursday after pleading guilty to residential burglary, driving under the influence and violating a protection order.

According to court records, on April 11 Gonzalo Torres Mejia broke into the home of a woman who had a protection order against him.

Torres Mejia then left the home. He was taken it custody a short while later by a State Patrol trooper.

In exchange for his guilty pleas, Torres Mejia had one charge dropped.

ASSAULT

A 38-year-old Mount Vernon man pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of fourth-degree assault.

According to court records, prosecutors will recommend a sentence of two years, six months in prison for Fernando Espinoza when he is sentenced Aug. 31.

Records state that on May 15, 2024, Espinoza assaulted a woman, and took her phone when she attempted to call 911. Espinoza then threw the phone at the woman, hitting her in the face.

In exchange for his guilty pleas, Espinoza had one other charge dropped.
