Open house planned for interchange at US 12 and North Clinton
The community is invited to an open house on proposed improvements at the intersection of U.S. 12 and North Clinton Street in Walla Walla.
At the open house, the project team will share an early draft of the tight-diamond interchange design planned for the intersection.
The event, hosted by the city and Port of Walla Walla, will be 5-6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 16, at Green Park Elementary School Library, 1105 E. Isaacs Ave.
It will be a drop-in style event with staff members stationed at information displays to explain the project, answer questions and listen to feedback.
The event is the first of two in-person open houses. A date for the second opportunity was not yet provided.
The open house content, along with opportunities to provide feedback, will also be available on the project webpage, gowallawalla.us/current-projects/us12-clinton, from July 16-30.
The project design builds on the 2020 U.S. 12/Clinton/Wilbur Feasibility Transportation Study, which identified strategies to improve safety, multimodal connectivity and support future growth north of U.S. 12.
Planning is now underway, and the agencies are collecting community input on traffic patterns, safety concerns, and pedestrian and bicycle access.
