Another heat wave is coming to Pierce County starting Friday and into Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

While Thursday’s high will be around 76 degrees, the temperature will likely go into the mid-80s Friday.

Saturday and Sunday will be the warmest as temperatures hit the upper 80s. There is also potential that Tacoma will see the temperature reach 90 degrees, meteorologist Kayla Mazurkiewicz at the National Weather Service told The News Tribune.

There is an elevated fire concern for this week, Mazurkiewicz said, because it will be very dry.

The temperature will stay mid-80s Monday and Tuesday.

Mazurkiewicz recommends that people drink plenty of water and take breaks in the shade if they are outside this weekend.
