Update: SR 410 near Sumner reopened. Other area roads remain closed by flooding

Update: State Route 410 near Sumner has reopened in both directions, WSDOT reported about 1:40 p.m.

Previous post: The rising Puyallup and White rivers are forcing road closures across East Pierce County, including the main state highway serving Sumner, Bonney Lake, Buckley and points east.

State Route 410 has been shut down in both directions at milepost 9.32 near East Main Avenue and Traffic Avenue in Sumner, according to a Facebook post from the City of Bonney Lake.

“Road is closed [in] both directions at Traffic Ave,” the post said.

In a Facebook post, the Puyallup Police Department said the following roads are closed:

  • North Levee Road, under the North Meridian Avenue Bridge
  • 4th Street Northeast, under the North Meridian Avenue Bridge
  • 11th Street Northwest, north of River Road

The city closed the Riverwalk Trail on Monday, and that trail is still closed today.

“Our Emergency Management division has set up a Call Center number for Puyallup residents who have questions at 253-864-4170,” the post said.
