Update: Both directions of SR 410 in Sumner reopen after flooding

Both directions of state Route 410 in Sumner have shut down from water on the roadway after heavy rainfall Thursday morning.

The highway is closed eastbound at East Main Avenue/Traffic Avenue and westbound at state Route 162/Valley Avenue, according to a Washington State Department of Transportation travel advisory.

There is no estimated time to reopen that part of the highway. The highway was closed in the same spot Wednesday.

People are encouraged to delay or reschedule travel if possible. Drivers can expect delays in the surrounding areas.

Update: The water has receded, and the highway has been reopened in both directions, according to WSDOT Tacoma on X.
