Warm weather will return to the South Sound just in time for Fourth of July

Those celebrating the Fourth of July Saturday can look forward to warmer weather in Pierce County and along the South Sound.

Across Pierce County, it will generally be sunny with a high near 73 degrees with a low around 50, according to the National Weather Service.

In Tacoma, the weather will be partly sunny with a high near 67 degrees It will mostly be cloudy earlier in the evening and then clear up later that night, according to the NWS.

There is a minor heat risk anticipated for areas away from the water along parts of Western Washington, including Tacoma. The NWS said this level of heat mostly affects people who are extremely sensitive to heat, especially when they are outside and do not have an effective way of cooling down.

It will continue warming up throughout next week, with an expected high around 79 for the U.S. World Cup game in Seattle on Monday.
