Introducing! Social-distancing Twister and other board games for COVID-19 society
Five board game adaptations for the coronavirus generation.
1. Pandemic terminology Scrabble. Spell “hydroxychloroquine” using a Triple Word Score tile, and boom! 150 points! Game over.
2. Chinese virus checkers. Move slowly at first, then sweep across the board in all directions, jumping obstacles with unstoppable momentum. Made in Wuhan, no assembly required.
3. Infected Battleship. Firing torpedoes and sinking all your opponent’s ships is one way to win. Firing all your opponent’s ships’ captains for speaking out about a viral outbreak is another.
4. Economic lockdown Monopoly. Nonessential businesses shuttered on every street, tenants don’t have to pay rent and all hotel development put on hold. Need fresh air? Draw a “Get out of quarantine free” card.
5. Social distancing Twister. Right foot red, left hand blue! Same fun game, but with extra-large dots so players can stay 6 feet part. PPEs sold separately.
And a special additional game for adults 21 and older:
6. Washington Gov. Jay Inslee press conference drinking game. Take a shot every time he says: “We need testing, contact tracing and isolation.” Take another shot every time he says: “Wash your hands.”
