The five spot: 5 cool things about our water
Five reasons Tacoma drinking water is so good, it's worth saving by any means necessary, including a ballot measure:
1 It comes from the Green River — the only drinking water source whose name conjures both a pristine watershed and a serial killer.
2 It's so intoxicating, it makes people forget where they are. Why else would a company called "Niagara" bottle its water here?
3 It's famous for amazing fertility powers. Fish travel miles and miles to spawn in its headwaters. (Too bad so many of them can't get there anymore.)
4 The Chinese had planned to market their Tacoma import as the most pure, crisp and refreshing methanol in the world.
5 Let Olympia have its overrated artesians. Tacoma water puts the “oh!” in H20, without the bitter JBLM traffic aftertaste.
