In response to the recent op-eds about homelessness in Puyallup by Jim Kastama (8/28) and Ric Rose (9/6), I offer this: Kastama was in my graduating class from Puyallup High School, where he was much the same then as now. He served the public, was all-inclusive, fair, honest and ethical.
Kastama is hardly un-Christian in his civic duties and neighborhood concerns about the New Hope Resource Center. Quite the contrary. If one seeks rational discussion based in community foundation, Kastama is the voice. One does not need to mention God in every sentence to have the greater good in mind.
