Co-op: CEO hedged bets, now hits the road

Re: “Grocery co-op works on future,” (TNT, 9/4).

Central Co-op CEO Dan Arnett’s ignorance of the power of perception is baffling. He is quoted as saying “We’re fairly committed to having a presence there.” Well, he just hedged his bets with “fairly” and “it would be very easy to do a lot of harm just by acting fast.”

Hmm, like closing the Tacoma Co-op unexpectedly after consolidation and then taking a new job out of state, all in the course of six to seven months?! The 253 has no appetite for this condescension.
