Anthem: Reason enough to stop supporting NFL

I am boycotting the National Football League. I have watched the NFL since I was 6 years old. I have watched the Seahawks since their inaugural season, 1976.

However, as of today, I will not watch any NFL games on TV or in person, I will not wear Seahawks gear or any other team’s gear, for the remainder of the season. I can no longer support the NFL as so many ungrateful players sit or kneel for the national anthem when so many brave young men have given their lives to protect our flag, the symbol of freedom throughout the world.

I am the proud son of a U.S. Navy veteran who survived the attack on Pearl Harbor 75 years ago this December. He passed away in 2008, but if he were alive today, he would be disgusted by the lack of respect for his beloved flag and anthem. I consider these protests a national embarrassment and a disgrace.

I prefer baseball anyway.
