Guns: How much more stomach-turning violence?

Re: “Officials: Shooter first killed father,” (TNT, 9/29).

This is a very serious issue that, despite so much legislation, nothing has been done about. With this latest incident in South Carolina, in which two children were shot at an elementary school, it just makes me sick to my stomach.

I don’t understand how this has become such a daily occurrence. After reading numerous articles about gun violence, I feel like something has to be done. With the recent shootings in Houston and Burlington, the gun-control debate replays over and over again. The government needs to do more to deal with this epidemic. Despite schools implementing preventive measures to prevent the violence it’s still going to happen no matter what.

Not all gun violence can be completely prevented, but hopefully the public would become more aware of this so that we could prevent future incidents like what happened in South Carolina.
