Election: David Sawyer should represent the 29th District
On October 6th I listened to tributes about David Sawyer’s many legislative accomplishments by top politicians and Native Americans across the State.
His opponent, Rick Thomas, would need 15 more years of political experience to fill Sawyer’s shoes.
Many people don’t know that after graduating Central Washington University, Sawyer worked in D.C. for one of our state senators and then signed on as one of the original four organizers in Iowa for President Obama’s first run for office. Sawyer then came home and helped our previous governor win her race. He also worked behind the scenes for the Democratic party before he ran for the 29th seat with strong Democratic backing.
Sawyer graduated Rogers High School in 2001 and then from CWU, so he has first hand knowledge of Washington’s education issues.
He received the “Legislator of the year award” and has been responsible for the passing of significant legislation. The TNT was correct that Thomas needs to “pay his state dues” before he can be a serious contender in Olympia.
Even as a little boy, Sawyer has always had a calling for politics and helping others.
I should know, I raised him. Sue Sawyer (Step-mom)
