Election: David Sawyer, law clerk or lobbyist?

After Rick Thomas rang my doorbell the other day and engaged me in thoughtful political debate, I felt the need to research his opponent the incumbent David Sawyer.

Searching on the TNT page I found a story and press release that shows him to be the vice-president and co-owner of the governmental lobbyist firm Ladenburg Law: Governmental Affairs whose mission statement includes “provides professional consulting services to clients and their organizations.”

How are the voters to know if David Sawyer is working for them or a paid client while on the floor in Olympia?
