Climate: GOP must step up

The scientific evidence for current climate change is overwhelming. The earth is warming, we are the cause, and the outcomes are bad for people, the economy, and the environment. We need all hands on deck to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions, yet the GOP refuses get in the game.

While harm from climate change has never been clearer, opportunities to mitigate greenhouse gases have never been greater. We are in the midst of a clean energy revolution that can wean us from fossil fuels over the coming decades. Candidates at all levels in this election – county, state, and federal - need to show the strength and resolve to embrace the revolution. Republicans must adopt strong climate policies, and we must hold all candidates accountable. If a candidate won’t step up on climate change, they don’t deserve our vote.
