Obamacare: Senators to create new mess

“Murray wants to give seniors one-time bonus of $581,” (TNT, 10/27).

How nice. Sens. Patty Murray and Chuck Schumer want to give an emergency check to Social Security recipients. They say it is to help those who haven’t received a cost-of-living increase.

Since the U.S. is forced to borrow about $600 billion every year and we’re approaching a $21 trillion national debt, that sounds a little irresponsible. But why should we expect more from them?

Since these two Democrat senators are feeling so generous with borrowed money and want to make things right, how about an emergency refund check for those of us stuck with their vote on Obamacare? Not only has their silly law kept our economy at a slow 1.3 percent crawl, but most of us are paying higher premiums, higher copays and getting far inferior coverage.

Patty and Chuck, instead of tinkering with vote buying, perhaps it is time to clean up the mess you created.
