Trump’s election: What have we done?

What does this say about our country when so many Americans were willing to vote for a developmentally arrested, hostile, arrogant, needy, sexually assaultive man with complete ignorance of world affairs over a bright, competent, experienced “establishment “ woman? I am deeply concerned about the potential ramifications for the rights of women and minorities and the loss of credibility we will have with the rest of the world. I pray that some of the more ethical and reasonable Republicans in power will have the courage to stand up for integrity, protection of our environment, respect for the reproductive rights of women and true equality for all Americans. In the meantime, I mainly feel shame and disgust.
